Our Story

Hometown brothers, building for the long haul.

Pinnacle Cabinet Company is what happens when a family that's called Mount Pleasant home since the 1870s decides to build cabinets the same way it built its name: carefully, honestly, and to last.

How It Started

From a family knack to a family company.

The McDonald family put down roots in Mount Pleasant in the 1870s, and building has been in the blood ever since. In 1997, Joe McDonald, backed by brothers who shared his background in the building trades and his love of fine woodworking, turned that heritage into Pinnacle Cabinet Company.

What began as cabinetry for local mid-Michigan homes grew fast. Within a year, Pinnacle established its first authorized dealer in southern Michigan, and the network of design-focused dealers has been growing ever since.

Today, brothers Fred and Scott McDonald own and run the shop: same hometown, same standards, same signature on every job.

What We Believe

Autograph your work with quality.

“Every job is a self-portrait of those who did it. Autograph your work with quality.”
Posted on our shop wall since day one

That sign has hung in our shop from the beginning, and it's still how every Pinnacle craftsman is asked to think about the cabinet in front of them. If we wouldn't put it in our own homes, it doesn't leave the building.

The Pinnacle Way

Three things we'll never compromise.

01

Built like furniture

Solid construction and furniture-grade joinery in every box, drawer, and door: the parts you see and the parts you don't.

02

Finished to endure

Our cabinets are sealed with a world-class catalyzed polyurethane finish that stands up to steam, spills, and decades of daily use.

03

Sold by people who care

We only sell through established, design-focused authorized dealers: people who measure twice, design well, and stand behind the install.
